Actor Sir Patrick Stewart, best known for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films, has died aged 86. The classically trained actor also enjoyed a celebrated stage career, performing Shakespearean roles including Macbeth and Claudius.
