The Statue of Liberty was dedicated 140 years ago today, on October 28th, 1886.
In those 140 years, the statue has stood through hurricanes, blizzards, earthquakes, two World Wars, and a Great Depression.
Throughout the years, the American people have prioritized the care and lighting of the statue as a symbol of "Liberty Enlightening the World".
Happy 140th!!! π½ππ

Happy 140th to her β it's remarkable to read that she has stood through hurricanes, blizzards, two World Wars and a Great Depression since that dedication on October 28, 1886, and is still lit with such care.
