I hear it all the time: “how dare you compare animal oppression to human oppression!”, “there’s children dying!” “there are more important problems in the world,” “we need to solve human problems first”…

This reflects the root problem: viewing some lives as less important than others and having such little respect for other animals where it’s offensive to even consider offering them the same basic moral consideration of living free from oppression.

Why are we treating basic respect, liberation and justice as if these concepts can only extend so far?

We don’t all have to be the same to have the right to live free - isn’t that the whole damn point? Let’s live consistently and stop tormenting the world’s most vulnerable beings. This means live vegan.
