A little milestone that no artist enjoys. A lovely follower recently alerted me to the fact that SHEIN has stolen and sold quite a few copies of my artwork. 🫠
I have to admit, there’s a tiny, unhelpful part of me that’s kinda flattered that that many people like my drawings enough to put them on their walls. Especially considering I suck at the selling side of things 😂
But obviously there’s a difference between people enjoying your art and a giant retailer helping themselves to it and profiting from it.
I know it’s a pretty well known part of sharing our art these days, but it’s depressing to think it’s something we’re all just expected to shrug about.
And while I’m not exactly losing sleep over prints I wasn’t actively selling in the first place, this kind of thing does undercut the artists who are trying to make an actual living from their work.
As a side note, I actually think this drawing with the words ‘SHEIN STOLE MY ART’ over the top would make a great print. I wonder if they’d rip that off. 😆

Sell the print with the stolen art lettering over it. I bet people would buy it in support. I hate the situation.

So sorry this is happening to you. Me too, been happening for years. So upsetting. I found some of mine on Sheim, Timu and others.

We need to post privately now. These huge companies always take ideas from the real small artists. Small artists do not have the means to file and protect all the arts they make/ license/ R/ C, trademark and what not.
