Kakali Biswas

It was Ekadashi and I was not expecting anyone. The studio was closed. I was relaxing. Then the doorbell rang.
I opened the door to find Mitali, a chic, lovely woman who looked a little embarrassed about dropping in when she knew we were closed. But I was delighted!
She had discovered Dora by Phoenix on Instagram and had come looking for specific prints that had spoken to her. The moment I asked her about them, her face lit up. Watching her explore the prints like a child in a candy shop, was an absolute joy. She knew exactly what she wanted, and she found them.
What began as an unexpected visit turned into a lovely afternoon of shopping, stories and adda. Listening to her, I was reminded once again: this is why I do what I do.
Mitali, thank you for making a special trip to Dora during your Pujo visit to Kolkata all the way from Manchester. Your words and your enthusiasm made my year and reminded me why these little connections mean so much.
