Microsoft has offered voluntary exit packages to around 60,000 eligible employees—over a quarter of its reported workforce. That does not mean 60,000 people have been laid off. But alongside further job cuts at Amazon, it gives workers plenty to think about.

What could change if you invested two focused hours a day into building something of your own?

This is not to put pressure on you to change your job overnight. Start by learning one skill: e-commerce, digital products, AI content creation or YouTube. Give yourself time to practise and understand what it takes. Additional income takes work, and results are never guaranteed.
