Dr. Laura Berman (@drlauraberman) shared this on today's episode of The Terri Cole Show, and I couldn't agree more. The feelings we avoid often fester and wait for us, and they can shape how we live, love, and protect ourselves.

Laura knows this better than most. After the loss of her 16-year-old son, Sammy, she made the brave choice to go all the way into her grief instead of around it. The pain had a bottom, and on the other side was a version of herself she never expected to meet.

In this episode, we talk about her new book, Crying Out Loud, and her mind, body, spirit, and tribe approach to moving through loss. We also get into what to say (and what never to say!) to someone who is grieving.

If you’re carrying a loss right now, or loving someone who is, this conversation is for you. 💛

"The pain had a bottom." What a sentence to hold onto. When you're in it, it feels endless, so hearing that from someone who lived it gives real hope.

The check-in a month later matters too, when the first wave of help has gone.
