Trapeze artist Eliška Brtnická has been engaged in artistic research in the field of contemporary circus. She searches for new innovative ways of artistic language that uses circus artistic technique. The trapeze is often deconstructed with the aim of finding new expressive material.
Her work is distinctive in terms of visuals, she works a lot in the context of site-specific, documentary and galleries, cooperating with the contemporary art center DOX, the (A)void gallery in Prague or the Benedikt Rejt gallery in Louny. She is also often in connection with architecture, for example in the site-specific Chimney project.
She studied Physical Theater at Prague’s Academy of performing arts, where she also completed doctoral studies. In 2010, she founded the company Cirkus Mlejn. She is the winner of the main prize of the Czech Dance Platform 2023 and Theatre Newspaper award 2023 for the THIN SKIN show. In 2022 she got a nomination for the Thalie prize for performance named Hang Out.

Trapetsitaiteilija Eliška Brtnická on tutkinut nykysirkusta taiteentutkimuksen tutkimusalalla. Hän etsii sirkustaiteesta uusia taidekielen keinoja. Brtnickán työskentelyssä trapetsin dekonstruktio avaa mahdollisuuksia uusiin ilmaisutapoihin. Hänen usein paikkasidonnaiset teoksensa ovat visuaalisesti tunnistettavia, ja hän toimii myös dokumentin parissa.
Galleriamaailmassa hän on toiminut yhdessä nykytaiteen keskus DOX:n, prahalaisen (A)void-gallerian ja lounylaisgalleria Benedikt Rejtin kanssa. Hänen toimintansa on myös yhteydessä arkkitehtuuriin, kuten paikkasidonnaisessa Chimney-projektissa.
Hän opiskeli fyysistä teatteria Prahan esittävien taiteiden akatemiassa, josta myös valmistui tohtorin arvoon. Vuonna 2010 hän perusti Cirkus Mlejn -ryhmän. Hän on saanut Chech Dance Platform -pääpalkinnon ja Theatre Newspaper -palkinnon THE SKIN -esityksestä, molemmat vuonna 2023.
Vuonna 2022 hänet nimettiin Thalie-palkintoehdokkaaksi teoksella Hang Out.
