People with ADHD or autism may now qualify for a Disabled Persons Railcard, giving them and one adult travelling with them a third off most train fares across England, Scotland and Wales...

The eligibility rules expanded on 30 September to include people whose long-term condition significantly affects their ability to travel by train. A diagnosis alone doesn’t guarantee approval and applicants need supporting evidence from a health professional or a signed impact declaration explaining the barriers they face.

The railcard costs £20 for one year or £54 for three years, with no time restrictions on when you can use it. Applications through the new route are assessed individually.

As a pharmacist I can tell you, a lot people these days getting diagnosed with ADHD do not have ADHD, they need to reduce their social media and screen time as that's equivalent to watching cocomelon for kids, eat good healthy food not processed, take your vitamins and go out in nature for walks! Oh and stop smoking weed, and using class A drugs to get by their day. Fix up! But there is a percentage that does have ADHD that should not be ignored.

It’s really sad that whether you are neurodivergent or not that you can criticise a decision to support people’s independence. I know plenty of with ADHD and autism and each one has different support needs. Hardly anyone I know claims any type of benefit and this is a discount! For a card you have to PAY FOR! Not free. Same as if you are a student or a pensioner or a family, so do we disregard all this people as well 😡

bunch of sexists and ableists in the comment section as usual. soon as women can get treatment for something everyone's "lying" about having it.
