You're losing money just for having a bank account in Canada. Monthly maintenance fees, ATM fees, transaction fees, they add up quietly, month after month.
Digital banks usually charge fewer fees, and my favourite right now is Wealthsimple: $0 monthly maintenance fee, unlimited free Interac e-Transfers, interest on your chequing account, and you can invest in the same app.
Don't close your account, just look elsewhere.
