We don’t celebrate halloween and here’s why - I have 3 littles, whom I will protect and keep pure minded for as long as I can. Pumpkins, autumn leaves, cute costumes, apple cider, even the candy — sign me up. Unfortunately what I have no control over is how others dress up, how others decorate their homes, how others interpret the holiday. The halloween decorations I see every year (but for some reason especially this year) are so disturbing, even for me as an adult. So when my kids are already coming into my room at night with bad dreams — why would I intentionally expose them to things that will scare them. I wish it was all sweet and pure but unfortunately it isn’t. And yes, I love Jesus but there’s a lot more too it than not participating in the witches and devils of it all. They will have the rest of their lives to make their own decisions but right now it’s my time to protect their minds. The cool thing about growing up and each having our little families is that we all get to raise our children in our owns ways, with unique traditions! Anywho, happy Nov 1!!!
