‘It’s Murphy Monday!’

Remember the little owl Murphy and I found in the woods last week? 🦉

Well, I have an update, although not quite the one I was hoping for.

Sadly, this week I found the owl smashed into pieces. I’ve no idea what happened, could it have been the storm perhaps? I felt really sad seeing it like that, so I collected as many of the pieces as I could find and brought them home.

I spent a while trying to put it back together like a jigsaw, but it soon became apparent that a few pieces were missing.

A few days later I went back for another look and, would you believe it, I found its feet!

With help, a bit of glue, and some patience, we’ve managed to put most of the front of our little owl back together again.

It’s certainly not perfect, but I couldn’t bear to just leave it broken.

Now I’m wondering what to do with it next…

I’ve thought about fixing it into a plant pot and taking it back to the woods, perhaps with a little note for whoever originally left it there.

But I’d love to hear your ideas.

What would you do with this little owl? And what would you write in the note?

I think this little woodland story might have one more chapter yet!

Happy Murphy Monday everyone. 😀

PS. Poo bags come in handy for all sorts! 😂

Good work putting him together again. Keep this wise, wee fella where he'll be cherished. His scars are his history and you will love him even more because of them x

Put it back or leave something else in its place.

This is so sad. I think as you have carefully put back together, it deserves a home with you. Looks a lot happier with your pots where he is loved. 💕🦉

Owls are considered good luck in Japan. Who knows how long the owl you found has been in th forest. Protect him in your garden. Bring each other good fortune. Possibly he was there a long time waiting for someone to notice him.
