Ink, press, print! Bring your favorite linocut designs into the world of clay with AMACO Ceramic Printing Inks! 🖤

@amacobrent’s Ceramic Printing INKS are AMAZING for silkscreening, stenciling, and even block printing onto clay! They can be fired at cone 05 to cone 10, so whatever clay body you use, these ceramic INKS will work. The color you see pre-fired is the color you get post firing.

Check out amaco.com to see all the different colors available!

SUPPLIES:
1. Linocut block
2. Carving tools
3. AMACO Ceramic Printing Inks
4. Brayer (ink roller)
5. Clay
6. Rolling pin or slab roller

HOW TO BLOCK PRINT ON CLAY:
1. Prep your clay. Roll out a smooth, even slab.
2. Roll on the ink. Use a brayer to apply an even layer of AMACO Ceramic Printing Ink to the raised surface of your linocut.
3. Press your design. Carefully position the inked block onto your clay and press evenly to transfer the image.
4. Lift and reveal! Gently peel the linocut away to reveal your print.
5. Keep creating! Experiment with different designs, placements, registrations, and patterns to make your work your own.

I’ve tried this with a rubber brayer and the design doesn’t ink properly. The inks are not oily enough to stick to the linoleum or rubber. I’ve found a foam roller works better? Trying to get a crisp print into more dry clay is super tough, as opposed to a freshly rolled slab. Let me know if there’s any tips! Thanks! ❤️
