I can watch this all day 😭 The original John Cena prank call dates back to 2012, when Virginia’s Z Morning Zoo radio show used his wrestling theme to prank a fan’s wife. The recording later spread online and became the legendary “And His Name Is John Cena” meme, which took over Vine and YouTube around 2014 and 2015. USC Digital Folklore Archives +1 What makes the meme timeless is how perfectly Cena’s entrance works as an interruption. His theme, The Time Is Now, is so recognizable that even people who have never watched WWE instantly know what’s coming. John Cena himself eventually embraced the prank call meme, saying he wasn’t bothered by people associating him with it. Fightful +1
Do you trust this government with your $1.6 BILLION? Ottawa has committed up to that amount to buy into AI company Cohere. But when Vassy Kapelos asked Minister Evan Solomon what percentage Canadians would own, he wouldn’t disclose it. Commercial sensitivity. Sound familiar? That’s what’s they said with Volkswagen and many others. Look at the record of federal and provincial governments backing companies with public money: 🔴 Northvolt: Quebec lost $270 million invested in the Swedish parent company. (globalnews.ca) 🔴 Lion Electric: Quebec lost approximately $140 million, according to The Canadian Press. (montreal.citynews.ca) 🔴 Recyclage Carbone Varennes: Quebec’s $117 million equity stake was lost, alongside further losses on public loans. The assets sold for just $17.5 million. (montreal.citynews.ca) 🔴 Medicago: Ottawa lost a $150 million non-refundable vaccine advance. (search.open.canada.ca) 🔴 Novavax: After Canada terminated its vaccine agreement, the company booked US$575.7 million from previously recorded payments and liabilities as revenue. It refunded US$28 million. (sec.gov) And they get away with it? Vast? “Ok”. It’s not ok. Disclose the deal or you don’t get to use our money.
