🎙️🏀 In June, WSHR students were invited to cover the NBA Draft at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Elio Portillo, our Head of Studio, recently debuted a mini-documentary capturing what that experience meant to the students and our media network.
The coverage showcased professional-level work by student broadcasters and producers who have continued to excel:
⭐ Alyssa Tappin graduated as Sachem’s most decorated student journalist
⭐ Chase Biesiadecki was promoted to Sports Director
⭐ Elio Portillo was promoted to Head of Studio
⭐ AJ Bracero was promoted to Creative Director
⭐ Patrick Coursen was promoted to Head of Photography and Executive Producer
Give students meaningful opportunities, the support to grow and the freedom to create, and they will show you what they can do. We’re proud of how this group has embraced every challenge and helped raise the standard for student media.
Watch the mini-doc and see why WSHR continues to lead as Long Island’s #1 Student Media Network, delivering professional-grade reporting across platforms.
