Bridgetown Bites

A new boutique hotel in Troutdale opens today: Hotel Reynard. Its name comes from the stories of Reynard the Fox, which has origins in Medieval Europe, 12th century. The people behind the project are co-owners Donald Kenney and Sean Hoard (The Suttle Lodge, Pal’s on Hayden Island). Sean is also the beverage director and Chef Bill Wallender (Ava Gene’s, Quaintrelle) oversees the tavern menu.

They offer 8 nicely-appointed rooms, a tavern offering seasonal cooking and a bar, and an outdoor patio.

I stopped by the other day for a little preview and thought it was a very nice place to spend some time - overnight, for a few days, or just having a meal in the tavern. It’s right there at the “Gateway to the Gorge,” so a sweet location if you are spending extended time exploring the Columbia Gorge.
