Every old saree has a story. Sooji Mallige gives that story a new life. 🌸
What was once discarded is transformed into something beautiful and useful, creating livelihoods while keeping textile waste away from landfills.
Started with the support of Hasiru Dala, Sooji Mallige, Mangaluru, brings together 22 women who are building economic independence through creativity, collaboration and upcycling.
In just eight months, the initiative has helped divert approximately 10–12 tonnes of old clothes from landfills.
This is more than upcycling. It is about women creating opportunities, reclaiming value from waste and shaping a more sustainable future.
