IVE REACHED 3000 SMILES!

I STARTED MY SMILE FACTORY OVER A YEAR AGO IN AN EFFORT TO HELP MYSELF BREAK OUT OF NEGATIVE THOUGHT PATTERNS AND TRYING TO CHANGE MY OWN ENVIRONMENT BY INTERACTING WITH THE PEOPLE THAT INHABIT IT

I STARTED BY APPROACHING PEOPLE IN THE STREET AND HANDING OUT FREE PRINTS OF MY WORK

THROGH THIS ACT OF GIFTING (and refusing any form of payment) I WOULD OPEN UP A CHANNEL OF GROUNDED CONVERSATION ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND WITHOUT REALISING IT I BEGAN TO CREATE SAFE SPACES IN THE STREETS OF LONDON

I DISCOVERED THAT A SAFE SPACE CAN MEAN LITERALLY JUST A CONVERSATION BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE IN WICH THERE IS NO ULTERIOR MOTIVE APART FROM GENUINE CONNECTION

TO THIS DATE IVE GIVEN OUT OVER 3000 LITTLE ENVELOPES - THATS OVER 3000 POSITIVE INTERACTIONS WITH THE PUBLIC

ITS LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE AND THE WAY I LIVE IN WHAT CAN BE FOR MANY A VERY LONELY CITY ( LONDON )

The jacket was purchased from a charity shop in London , painted and then flown the following day to be featured on a catwalk in Brussels.

The whole project brings to light how much value we place on clothing and commodities found in “fancy” environments compared to the things that are thrown away.

I believe that we should be working towards a more sustainable future in our own lives by making small changes to the way we see fashion by reworking the items of clothing we already own.
