The exhibition Future Past connects two prominent figures in Czech art, Josef Bolf (*1971), a contemporary painter and draftsman, and Josef Váchal (1884–1969), a versatile artist of the first half of the 20th century. Although their work is separated by almost a century, they are united by a shared sensitivity to dark visions emerging from the human unconscious. Both artists share a fascination with cosmology and tarot archetypes, reflecting an ancient human desire to understand hidden forces.

👀This also deserves a look back here.
We all know the activities of @druhasmena and although the topics they cover are not superficial or through positive, the task for the anniversary and benefit was clear... Maja @zovitememajic says, I imagine it like this, friends, contributors, fans and participants sit in a circle and everyone is happy that they can be together and money is showered on them from above and everyone is relaxed and happy that we will be able to continue to meet, function and work.

We didn't stay with this specific scene, but I think we got pretty close to the mood. Thank you for the freedom in this process, thank you for your work and reflections. And you follow and support Second Shift, you know

„The diploma project Opus fluidum responds to the reality of the present, in which the world changes faster than we are able to anchor our certainties, and the “solid bodies” of relationships, roles, and values are repeatedly thrown into the melting pot of transformation. This condition is viewed through the metaphor of the “alchemy of the present” — as an environment of continuous melting, where the pressure to perform, uncertainty, and the desire for wholeness, meaning, and stable form intersect.“

The catalogue published for the exhibition Future Past presents an exceptional encounter across time between two striking figures of Czech art: Josef Bolf (*1971), a contemporary painter, and Josef Váchal (1884–1969), mystic, printmaker, and writer of the early twentieth century. Although almost a full century separates their work, they are united by a shared sensitivity to the dark visions that emerge from the depths of the human unconscious. Readers will find in the book a guided journey through the works of both artists, conceived as a passage from Bolf’s introspective paintings to Váchal’s mystical imagination. Alongside a wealth of colour reproductions and photographs, the catalogue includes essays by Petr Wittlich and Josef Bolf, a study by Sandra Baborovská, and a fictional dialogue between Josef Bolf and Josef Váchal.

We managed to do a nice thing with @lhotskajewellery . @designblok_prague 2025 set a theme and Eliska decided to process it with stories of women who are brave and have Odvahu in various situations and stages of their lives. Based on this, an eight-meter installation was created at this year's designblok. And also the accompanying printed matter. Such a small newspaper)
Thanks for the assignment and I'm glad that it had good responses.
