POCUS on the process 🙏🏻 🫀

Hands-on learning at Lenox Hill Hospital learning about Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). Students were able to scan Vascular Access, FAST, RUQ, Aorta, Cardiac, Lung, and Soft Tissue! Special thank you to our adjuncts who held sessions at LHH in both the spring and summer semester!

Our awesome didactic students were incredible guest speakers, teaching grades K–4 about dental hygiene using an interactive Egg Model that vividly showed the effects of drinking soda on your teeth. They kept the kids engaged and excited to learn while making important concepts easy to understand. Students also demonstrated hands-on toothbrushing and flossing techniques, helping build healthy habits early on. To top it all off, they hosted a fun trivia session where they gave away the cutest kangaroo kids toothbrushes, making learning about oral health both memorable and fun for everyone involved. We’re so proud to have such amazing role models in our cohort! 🦷✨

An awesome group of our didactic students had the opportunity to volunteer as guest speakers for Career Day, sharing what it means to be a Physician Assistant with high school students at Liberty High School for Newcomers, which serves many immigrant students and those whose first language isn’t English, making this experience even more meaningful. Most of the students had never heard of the PA profession before, so it was incredibly rewarding to introduce them to a new path in healthcare.

To top it off, we also handed out stethoscopes at the end which so many students were excited about! Grateful to be part of a program that values outreach, education, and giving back.
