As you all know, this is my beautiful girl, Katelyn. This girl has done so much for me, that most wouldn’t believe it! This girl has brought me a happiness that I didn’t know I could find within myself. This girl has defended me in times I could never defend myself. This girl has loved me in times where I felt I could never be loved. This girl has shown me how crazy I am for her, not knowing I could ever be this crazy about someone. We have been together for 2 years. In these 2 years, we have had our ups and downs. We’ve loved hard, we’ve cried hard, we’ve struggled and strived together in the easiest and most difficult of times. This girl has been so patient and forgiving with me. In times where I’ve made her more mad than I ever have before, she turned right back around and forgave me. Love is hard, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. What makes love easy isn’t the love itself, it’s the person you are in love with. A person who loves you so much that they’ll always tell you to be better. A person who loves you so much that they show their support no matter the situation. A person who loves you so much that they will cry and hurt in front of you because you make them feel safe. A person who wants everything in life to be with you. A person who, even when they disagree with you, still loves and supports you. A person who truly loves you for you, even with all the negatives you see within yourself. A person who’s willing to accept those differences and love them as they love you. Finding this person is so rare, and a lot of people aren’t lucky enough to find this person in their life. That’s a tale I’ll never have to worry about telling, because I know I’ve found my person. Kate, I love you more than anything in this world. I love loving you! It’s never a job. It’s never hard to do. You make it easier than anyone ever could! You mean more than everything to me. Beginning from a 3rd grade school assembly for interest in recreational basketball all the way to my senior year in the 3rd round of the state playoffs, basketball was the one thing that always brought me happiness. From the first time picking up a basketball not knowing if I’d even like it, to now hoping to never see the day I put one down. I never knew the things basketball would’ve done for me. It turned me into a leader with persistence, heart, determination, hard work, and passion for everything I will continue to do in life. Although I was hoping for this journey to never end, I wouldn’t change anything about it. The friends I’ve made, the connections with coaches I’ll have forever, and a love so unbreakable for just a ball. It feels surreal that it has come to an end. Thank you to all the coaches and teammates who convinced me to play this year. You guys have given me the opportunity to be apart of a family I thought I’d never have in sports. Great work today with 2026 Guard Pacey Wagner in a group workout. Pacey is extremely coachable, passionate, gritty, and has a very nice skill set as a rising sophomore.
