"The Hayley Williams Show" sold out @whiteriveramp last night and it was an amazing show! Paramore is one of my favorite bands because of @yelyahwilliams, but here we got to see 2 hours of all her solo work. So talented in song writing, instruments, and performance and an outspoken activist for humanity! ❤️🙏🏻❤️

Godsmack, stone Temple Pilots, and Dorothy all in one night at @whiteriveramp! September 24th,2026

My son Keaton and I have been seeing one of our favorite bands together @godsmack since the early 2000s and it's been awhile. So fun to reunite the rock party together again last night with @erikaphay joining the fun!

Godsmack ruled the stage as Kings of live rock music as always. But also Stone Temple Pilots! I didn't think would be that amazing without Scott Weiland but with all the original band members, they sounded straight out of the 90s and I'm thrilled I got to see them!

Dorothy is absolutely amazing out of LA with that voice that makes your rock soul feel alive! So glad we got to see them too!

Duane Oberlander, My Dad, Grampa Obie - December 11th, 1938 - September 11th, 2026.

I will have more to say about him in a future post of some sort. He's with my sister Shelly now, his daughter.

But I want to begin to honor the man who was so loved by so many and impacted so many lives including my own deeply. He was a dirt poor 2nd generation immigrant who only spoke German until school who found a way out of poverty to get a college education, become a high school teacher, a side time apple farmer, and an amazing father. His high school english students adored him for his sense of humor and empathy and compassion for the ones who didn't fit in.

Despite working two jobs (teaching and farming) he always found time for his kids and we spent time playing board games, outdoor games, camping, fishing, waterskiiing, you name it. And as a grandfather he became the jokester and prankster. The magician and the fisherman.

Dad you are already so missed. taken in 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 by @pacificnorthwest_native

I haven't posted a substack in months. Not because there was nothing to say — because there was too much, all at once, and it often feels like nobody is listening.

But I decided to write anyway. Keep using my voice.

So here's an update on five things I have written about. All of them are worse now.

→ ICE deaths in custody are at a record pace. Children held months past the legal limit. Rape allegations investigated by the same private companies accused of the abuse.

→ A USPS whistleblower says the new mail-ballot system can reject 10,000 ballots over a single bad barcode.

→ Hegseth is gutting the Pentagon's press corps so you can't see the real body count from Iran. 18 confirmed dead so far. He's polygraphing his own staff to keep it that way.

→ Gas and groceries are up double digits — tariffs and an illegal war, landing on people who can least afford either.

→ A federal judge has ruled, on the record, that the Attorney General is violating the law by hiding the Epstein files. DOJ's response was to appeal instead of comply.

The exhaustion is the strategy — a population that can't hold five atrocities in its head at once stops fighting any of them.

Last weekend I went to @rebirth.dance.fest . This is me just after I'd done a "re-wilding" ritual. Rewilding is about rediscovering your true animal self. Rediscovering that nature, the earth, and us are all one. We conjured our spirit animals and crawled around on the ground and sand. Felt the earth. Smeared each other in wild berries and charcoal from burned wood. We howled the noises of our animals. We connected to our inner animal.

This photo is me. I took me to the Rebirth Festival for the weekend. I shared it with myself. No other identities existed - not for me and most everyone there. You will see photos of me either on Linkedin or some company or corporate website in a jacket and nice business attire. That is not me. This has always been me. Feeling the need to be human.

Ecstatic dance is a free form of dancing with yourself, of feeling your inner you. A safe place of expression with no judgement. Nobody is watching you although everyone is there. These communities care deeply about the planet. Their spirituality is centered around the elements. Air, spirit, fire, water, earth. Its about the oneness of nature. Its the oneness of humanity.

To most in my circle of life, it sounds crazy. But most people don't actually know me.

Through rebirth, seattle extatic dance, @ista.community , - I've been able to find some real humanity behind the chaos of this destructive world. Oh. And it's substance free.

Anyway. Hello from me. by @pacificnorthwest_native
