Which "good ol' days"? They're mostly mythical but I miss the days when people took pride in being educated and forward-thinking. Now almost no one even reads books for edification or pleasure.

There is a time and place for tradition. But it shouldn't come at the expense of real progress--such as human rights or corporate and political accountability.

Immediately, too. 😅 Here is a cottagecore feverdream via the Enterprise Holodeck, juxtaposed with the unreasonable expectation of "work or die." So, it's an extreme escapist reaction to an extremely punitive/ableist ideology. Fittingly, this screen capture is from the TNG episode "Hollow Pursuits", which explores escapism and interpersonal boundaries, and work pressures versus social supports. (Aka
what a healthy worker & work environment can look like with the right infrastructure and leadership.)

If Islamists gave up Jihad, and Westerners stopped selling out to them for a profit, we would be one step closer to Star Trek.

The Ferengi, the Pakleds and the Klingons of TNG are warnings. As are the many fallen societies (that wiped themselves out with greed and barbarism) explored in the seven seasons of the show.
