The problem with this statement is that it completely misses the point.
Nobody is arguing that Supercars shouldn't have 14 rounds. Of course it should and think every team agreeees ( spelling mistake for those worried about my use of AI) . The Real question is why we are even in a position where the future of the championship is dependent on teams having to make concessions to fund the expansion of the sport.

RACE bought Supercars at a premium, yet now appears unable to fund the investment required to grow the championship, secure additional sponsorship and commercial revenue, and deliver on the opportunity everyone keeps telling us exists.

Instead, the burden is being pushed back onto the teams, the very people who have invested millions into the sport and are now being asked to help underwrite the ambitions of its owners.
Let's be clear agreeing to 14 rounds doesn't fix Supercars. It simply buys everyone more time.

The division between the teams hasn't appeared out of thin air. It has been created by the decisions, commercial strategy and lack of financial planning from the owners and management going back years . When teams are forced to fight over the economics of the championship, you don't have a united sport. You have a sport whose stakeholders have lost confidence in the people running it.

And let's stop pretending that more rounds automatically mean a healthier championship. More events mean more costs. Unless RACE can demonstrate how those events will generate the additional revenue needed to make them commercially sustainable, we're simply asking teams to take on more risk.

If Supercars is as healthy as we're continually told, with record crowds, record engagement and enormous commercial potential, then attracting the capital and commercial partners to fund its growth shouldn't be an impossible task.

The real question isn't whether Supercars should have 14 rounds. It's why the owners and management have failed to put the financial and commercial foundations in place to make that growth sustainable.
The teams can agree to this deal, but that doesn't mean the sport is fixed Until the people running Supercars address the underlying financial issues by @padderton

Today my daughter Siena turns 21. Hard to believe it feels like only yesterday I was taking her to kindergarten, and now all these years later she’s grown into an incredible yet still very expensive young woman. 😂
Siena, I could not be prouder of the woman you’ve become, and the woman you’ll continue to be. Watching you grow into who you are today has made me incredibly proud every step of the way.

Happy Mother’s Day. Today is about celebrating all mums biological mums, step mums, and every woman who has dedicated her life to making sure the next generation grows up knowing what real love looks like.
Being a mum is hands down the toughest job in the world, and too often the sacrifices go unseen.
Jaye, the love you show our kids is endless, and the sacrifices you’ve made for our family will never be forgotten. We are endlessly grateful for everything you do and the incredible example you set every single day.

I don't often get emotional but seeing @brooke.adderton stand up and receive her diploma from pepperdine had me a little teary eyed, but then I remembered I dont have to pay the tuition fees anymore so I smiled again🤣 so proud of you Brooke. by @padderton

James leaving was inevitable. I called it early his ability to lead was always going to be compromised by the board, the teams, and the politics that come with both.
The reality is, the changes that are needed will never happen under the current structure. Unless there’s completely new ownership and the teams have less influence over decision-making, nothing meaningful will shift. The constant backstabbing and political environment make it almost impossible to attract or retain strong leadership.
I’ve been saying for years now despite all the hype, this isn’t a healthy sport behind the scenes.
The core issue is the board and the ownership. The sport needs serious investment, but the financials are in poor shape. They overpaid for Supercars, debt levels are high, and that limits any ability to reinvest properly.
This doesn’t end well trust me. by @padderton

I am so lucky to have you in my life. I honestly can’t imagine what my life would look like if I hadn’t met you. I’m sure you sometimes dream about what your life would be like without me but I’m very glad we’ll never have to find out right ? .😅
