Patric Kimman, aka Paduan, is a DJ and curator of introspective electronic music. His sets weave drone textures, subtle melodies, concrète sounds and natural elements into immersive soundscapes. This mix pushes more into the downtempo and half time worlds inspired by his introduction to electronic music which was through drum and bass and growing up in London. He is one of the three founders of “Into the Universe,” an audiovisual event series in Amsterdam, and hosted a regular show focussed on ambient and experimental music on Balamii radio.

👁️ THE CONTINUUM 👁️

Continuum: a coherent whole characterised as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees.

Something we believe in around this channel is serendipity. Chance will play it's cards, paths will cross if they have to, things will fall into place. For long we wanted to get a mix from this artist in our collection, and we trusted the right time would come. And last November, Club Aura at @lautbarcelona brought us the moment. It was time to have a recording from @padduan in the channel.

Master selector of all things deep, chill and ambient, Paduan has always displayed an exquisite taste, not only limited to horizontal sounds. A true melomaniac, comfortable in any genre, any era. But I always found that his downtempo selections were a special treat. Maybe because it is a sound I am less used to, but his 'chill out' always hit different.

His events @intotheuniverses together with Will Oirson and Vincent Rang are a feast for eyes and ears, where experimental electronics mix with visual art in a show that blew me away multiple times.

It is fair to say that this channel would not be the same if we never crossed paths with Paduan, and we are blessed to have him in our life, and to be able to share special musical moments together!

For his set at @casa.montjuic Paduan delivered a masterclass in chill out sounds. Think 90s/early 00s nostalgia, downtempo vibes and floaty psychedelic sounds. A perfect set that works both for listening and for pendulum dancing (which indeed we ended up doing on that day). A treasure of a selection that he has kindly shared with us. What a gift.

A few years ago, in the early hours of the morning at a beautiful gathering curated by Muzan Editions and Astral Industries in Osaka, Japan - a morning that would deeply inspire the trajectory of our journey with music - we were first introduced to the sounds of the gifted selector and curator @padduan. He explores the deeper, more emotional shades of ambient and experimental music through his monthly radio show on London’s @balamii (one of our favourites <3), as well as the Amsterdam-based event series @intotheuniverses, which he co-curates with Will Oirson and @vincentrang.

We’re honoured to welcome Paduan to the series, sharing with us a stunning recording from his performance at Springkell late last year.

Next in our Ambient Meditation series: Paduan b2b Will Oirson, recorded at the final stretch of our ADE ritual. Their otherworldly closing track carried the final notes of our 39.5-hour ambient meditation.

“The ritual felt less like a concept and more like a shared state. ZEROBPM creates a setting where people are invited to slow down and stay present for an extended time, and our way of playing fits naturally within that. Being there b2b, surrounded by listeners who were clearly there to listen rather than consume, created a quiet sense of togetherness. The space, the duration, and the collective attention made it feel warm and human — without needing to be explicitly framed as such.”
