Thought I'd test how accurate my 1971 Nagra IV-L's speed was after 55 years of use and while I'm at it practice my 12 string guitar playing skills! (I'm a bass player no less).

After 5 minutes of recording the tape was a couple frames out, not bad considering this recorder probably hasn't been serviced since the 90s. This particular unit started out life in the Australian Army and was later used in Newsgathering. Nagras were the industry standard sound recorders for film and tv for many decades, and mine even supports pilot tone and can be synced with film cameras.
