“Herederos del Sueño”

Honored to receive the Distinguished Artist of the Half-Century Award from Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association in celebration of their 50th anniversary.

I created Herederos del Sueño to honor the generations whose sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering hope laid the foundation for justice. A reminder that justice does not grow on its own. It takes deep roots, hard work, and those willing to plant the seeds for future generations.

The painting was unveiled on the same evening Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari entered Congressional Recognition celebrating this historic milestone.

Grateful to have been part of this celebration and to honor those who came before us. by @padilla_arte

🎨 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT | MICHAEL PADILLA
Meet Michael Padilla, Los Abogados featured artist of the year. His commemorative piece for this year’s 50th anniversary will be auctioned at Gala next week. A Phoenix-based portrait artist originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, whose work is rooted in personal history, cultural identity, and the marks left by time and experience.
After stepping away from painting for sixteen years, Michael returned to his practice in 2025 with renewed purpose. Through bold color, symbolism, and expressive portraiture, his work explores resilience, transformation, strength, and vulnerability.
Join us at the Los Abogados’ 50th Anniversary Gala on October 17 to experience their work alongside an incredible group of artists.

50 years of growth, justice, and community. 🌱⚖️

Last night, featured artist Michael Padilla unveiled this stunning commemorative art piece honoring Los Abogados’ 50th anniversary—a powerful reflection of the seed planted five decades ago that continues to flourish today. We are proud heirs of the dream from those who came before us.

Thank you to Congresswoman Ansari for recognizing this milestone in the Congressional Record. This meaningful piece will be auctioned at our Gala on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Until the Sun Falls
Acrylic on canvas
30” × 60”
2026

His world isn’t measured by politics, borders, or status. It isn’t defined by the job he does or the place he calls home. His life is built on discipline, sacrifice, and the will to keep going.

He rises before the light, carries more than most will ever see, and asks for nothing in return. It will take the sun falling from the sky to stop him. by @padilla_arte

“My Monkeys, My Zoo”
Acrylic on birch wood / wall mural
48” × 70”
2026

Every room has monkeys.

Most of them aren’t yours.
Know the difference.
Control what you can.
Ignore what you can’t.
Judge less.
Stay present.
Keep moving.

The noise doesn’t matter.
Know your purpose.

Handle your zoo! by @padilla_arte

Beneath the Bloom
36” × 72”
Acrylic on canvas
2026

The beauty is obvious. The things we miss sometimes are not.

Created as a Día de los Muertos tribute, she wears my brother’s poppies to draw my mother near as a hummingbird. The flowers are not decoration. They are an offering, a way to call them home and keep them close for a little longer.

The blue represents the water my father gave them, the thing that kept them growing. Even in loss, that care remains.

It is about grief, memory, and refusing to let love disappear with death. by @padilla_arte

Still, She Blooms
30” × 60”
Acrylic on canvas
2026

She is more than the company she built.
More than the desert that shaped her.
More than a daughter, and more than the roles the world has given her.

There is a life beyond what she creates, what she carries, and what is expected of her.

Even in the harshest landscape, something beautiful can take root.

Still, she blooms. by @padilla_arte

Monkey on My Back
Acrylic on maple wood
32” × 82”
2026

What is the monkey on your back?

The relationship you know you should leave.
The work that takes more than it gives.
The past that still has its hands on your shoulders.
The future you are afraid to meet.
“What’s your addiction? Is it money? is it girls? is it weed?”

Monkey on My Back is about the weight we learn to live with.

The thing we carry so long it starts to feel like part of us.

At some point, you have to face it.
You have to loosen its grip.

Not everything is meant to follow you forever.
Some things have to be left behind.

You have to shed the weight before your wings can carry you. by @padilla_arte

🎨✨ Torsten and I had such a fun visit to Downtown Phoenix to see the incredibly talented Michael Padilla!

We first met Michael at the Cien Agaves event, where Torsten and I even got the chance to add a few brushstrokes to one of his amazing pieces — such a cool experience! ❤️

This time, we got to spend more time with Michael, see more of his work and learn about the creativity and passion behind his art. His pieces are bold, beautiful and truly one-of-a-kind.

And the best part? Michael is available for commissioned paintings! So if you’ve been looking for a special piece created just for you, definitely reach out to him. 🎨🙌

Make sure you’re following @padilla_arte to see his latest work and connect with him about creating something amazing for your home, office or business!
