Karna 2025
I am so thankful to have been part of the mega-production, Karna, created by Muralidharan Sir. The past few weeks have been some of the best in my life. I am so grateful to Sir for trusting me to portray Karna and guiding me along the way. It was such an honor to be able to dance on the same stage as him. This was such an incredible experience, and I would like to thank my Guru, Smt. Karpagavalli Sai Sankar for giving us all these opportunities. by @padma.dance

Feeling so blessed and grateful to my mom and Guru, Karpagavalli Sai Sankar for making this full circle moment so special. Years ago, she had the opportunity to work with Prabhu Deva Master, and now, I had the privilege of training students and performing in front of him. The fact that he remembered my mom made this moment even more meaningful. Definitely a moment I’ll always cherish by @padma.dance

Saptatāla Laharī 2026 – A Historic Celebration of Bharatanatyam

For three unforgettable evenings, the auditorium of Sri Krishna Gana Sabha radiated the spirit of Bharatanatyam as Saptatāla Laharī 2026 unfolded before a packed house of discerning rasikas, eminent dignitaries, and lovers of classical arts. The festival, held from 19th to 21st June 2026, was a historic celebration that brought together exceptional artistes, each contributing a distinctive artistic voice to this landmark presentation.

The enthusiastic response from the audience and the vibrant atmosphere within the auditorium reflected the enduring appeal of Bharatanatyam and the significance of this unique festival. Every recital added a new dimension to the celebration, leaving the audience enriched and inspired.

It is a matter of great pride as a Guru to witness my senior students and daughters present a full Margam in Chathusra Jathi Matya Talam this past Saturday as part of Sri Madurai R. Muralidaran Sir’s historic production, Saptatalalahari at the esteemed Sri Krishna Gana Sabha.

It was a privilege to perform before esteemed chief guests: “Gaanamrutha Vani” Dr. Nithyasree Mahadevan, Kalaimamani Shri. Rajhesh Vaidhya, Kalaimamani Swamimalai Dr. K. Suresh, Kalaimamani Smt. Srekala Bharath, and Laya Kala Vipanchee ‘Ghatam’ Shri. Uma Shankar and to receive their blessings on such a special occasion.

My heartfelt gratitude to Sri Madurai R. Muralidaran Sir for entrusting us with the opportunity to be a part of this landmark production. A sincere thank you to Chitra Ma’am for her patience, constant support, and guidance throughout.

A celebrated Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi exponent, acclaimed choreographer, teacher, composer, lyricist, nattuvanar, and scholar, Smt. Vasanthalakshmi Narasimhachari has dedicated over five decades to the preservation and advancement of Indian classical dance. Along with the late Natyacharya M.V. Narasimhachari, she co-founded the Kalasamarpana Foundation and created numerous path-breaking dance productions that continue to inspire generations.

Recipient of the prestigious Nritya Kalanidhi title conferred by The Music Academy, Chennai, she is widely admired for her artistic excellence, deep scholarship, innovative choreography, and unwavering commitment to the classical arts.
