January 8, 1990 God said let there be light, as He has for all who are children of light. The 35 years prior was me learning to become and exist as light in freedom as intended, not suffering for suffering sakes. Rather to toil for freedom, to resurrect from crucifixion with intention, to walk through the valley of shadow of death knowing its death shadow and not death itself. Thank you Lord for preparing me for these days full of blessings in the land of milk and honey, the land of promise right here on earth.

36 is the year my parents had me. How ironic 36 is the year I become a father alongside my beautiful bride and better half! Valeria, you are my heart. I thank God for the honor and privilege granted to me by God, by design, to be your lover and protector. After God and the evolution of loving self, is you. Love thy neighbor as thyself. I learned what that meant to better love you, because I discovered in that truth I can’t love anyone greater than I’ve learned to love self. I had to learn to love me to the highest so that I could best love you. To visit demons and evolve into heaven to be that for you. I love you baby. Thank you for walking alongside me in this life and eternity, together.

35 was a year of foundation. A year of trial after trial thrown to see if I would maintain the promise in my eyes, to find pleasure and heaven in the midst of perceived hell to test thy faith. Thank you Lord for molding me. To everyone who has walked with me in the darkest of times, I’m glad to share light with you. My closest circle and mastermind, thank you for our brotherhood. My firm, I love you all dearly. To family by blood and chosen, thank you as well. Those not pictured are no indication of place in my life. These photos are just a snapshot of some great moments from 35 to reflect on. And here’s to this next trip around the sun of 36, of walking as the creator and light God called me to be, made god to pharoah made god to life itself (Exo 7:1 KJV). It is written. Glory be to God!

It is an absolute honor to be appointed to serve in this capacity with the Tallahassee District arm of Northwestern Mutual, partnered with all of its amazing firms to reinvest back into the city of Tallahassee, and grow its footprint of professionals impacting the marketplace.

In this appointed position, I will still (and forever will lol) serve as President & CEO of Crossroad Capital Partners. Given that, in this role, I am now tasked with creating a deeper and more personal relationship with the local community of Tallahassee, FL and the visibility and impact of the local Fortune 100 corporate Northwestern Mutual arm. With this comes the opportunity to build stronger bonds within our communities & reinvest dollars to drive economic growth and impact, of which I am beyond excited to do so.

Here’s to continued and evolved service. Here’s to the road ahead of partnering with and make powerful splashes with FAMU, FSU, and other staples of our beloved Tallahassee community. Thankful to all of the wonderful CEO’s, executives, and investors who have poured into me over the years to be able to run 2 major entities such as Crossroad Capital Partners and the Tallahassee District. You all are too many to name individually so know if you’ve invested in me, I express here my gratitude!

What an honor to be recently recognized by the NFLPA, on the Man in Motion series as a former player who has gone on to excel as a business owner and executive.

In regards to the advice I would give to any former NFL player, or any athlete for that matter, here is what I shared in being able to lead alongside my teammates with Crossroad Capital:

“In transitioning out of the NFL, my encouragement would be to realize you didn’t leave the game, rather you simply graduated. Football taught us how to consult at the highest levels (Assess strengths and weaknesses = OTA’s/off-season, Stress testing of variables to now fit into an overall strategy = Training Camp, and now finish by making the necessary adjustments to put a finished product on the field in the form of audibles and check downs to deal with unknowns). If we can take this mindset, move from being an athlete to simply being a high performer, we’ll realize we can step in any arena and function in the top 1% of any field.”

I pray this wisdom shift my brothers (and sisters) perspective from being tied to an external identity, to now a vessel that can create success in whatever field you desire through discipline and repetition. by @padric_beast

From a 325 pound nose tackle, to where God has me today. Everyone sees the fruit now, not the hell you must endure or crucifixion you willingly must embrace for freedom.

Your goals & desires are not out of reach, you just have to shatter the old version of you and become the person that receives them.

5 months 🫶❤️🍓🍒

Our silly, happy girl is growing so fast and has officially doubled her birth weight! This little princess loves to smile, laugh, and tag along with Mommy and Daddy on lunch dates and shopping adventures. She has so much to say and happily babbles and squeals all day long. She’s getting so strong—rolling over, sitting up, and even trying to stand already!

Your dad and I love caring for you, our darling girl. We can’t wait to show you the world. We love you more than words can say.

Every day spent with you is a blessing and a memory I’ll cherish forever. I promise to always be your safe place, protect you from harm, and stand by your side through every season of life. Your snuggles, your sweet baby noises, and the way you look at me have healed parts of my heart in ways you’ll never know. Thank you for making me your mama.
