“𝗢” is a site-specific media installation that transforms @cubuklusilolar into a space for artistic and scientific exploration. Using vinyl as its primary material, the installation combines digital visuals inspired by fluid dynamics with the architectural structure of the silos. The installation utilizes drone footage and visuals inspired by fluid dynamics to connect the architectural history of the silos with their natural surroundings and the urban landscape of Istanbul.

The first solo exhibition in Istanbul by Atif Akin @pagan, artist, designer and Associate Professor of Visual Arts starts at @pilotgaleri. The exhibition offers a panorama of Akin’s practice with videos, prints, neon works and TFT screens. Signals is a select group of works from Akin’s long term research project over the past ten years on radiation, mutation and archaeology.
Akin’s work is about technoscientific criticism in the context of contemporary art, science, and politics.
Integrating technology as both subject and means of expression, Akin explores issues that are considered sensitive in the public discourse, unlocking them from the rigid political categories in which they reside.
Over the last decade, Akin has been researching radioactivity and mutant spaces creating a lens into the deep nuclear time. The research contemplates the nuclear as a time-space interface, surveying the historical sites of importance globally.
The visual style of the work is an outcome of studies of scientific visualizations, explosions, sublime frequencies, overtones and gaze that they create in the landscape. Akin reflects on the creation of new mythologies analogical to radioactive deformations of code.
