Yesterday marked my first Father’s Day without my dad, just five months after saying goodbye. The day was incredibly heavy, but looking at this photo of us reminds me of the steady love, warmth, and strength he poured into my life every single day. To honour his memory, I wanted to celebrate the kind of love he embodied by sharing five fictional fathers who mirror his incredible spirit.

These five books feature the absolute best book dads, all men who love fiercely and protect deeply. From the gentle devotion of Daniel LeBlanc (*All the Light We Cannot See*) and the quiet comfort of Hans Hubermann (*The Book Thief*), to the fierce dedication of Peter Andersson (*Beartown*), John Kavanagh Sr. (*Binding 13*), and Kai Rhodes (*Caught Up*). Each of these characters holds a special place in my heart because they remind me so much of the man who raised me.

Books have always been my safe haven, and sharing these stories feels like a warm embrace during a difficult week. I’d love to turn this space into a tribute to amazing fathers everywhere, both real and fictional.

Nope the sound isn’t off, I just forgot to turn the microphone on so now I had to record over it 😂 then thought I’d do the 5.04km walk as well and had to stop a few times between breastfeeding and changing to the carrier… what a calamity that was!!

OH speaking of Calamities, here’s my review of Kathryn Stockets- The Calamity Club which is now my favourite book of the year so far (and I’ve read over 100) I listened to audio of this one but have ordered the print to also read 🤷🏽‍♀️📚(does anyone else do this? lol) by @pagesforpaces

So many good books and I’m loving my reread of the maasverse! My swiftie life has taught me to look for Easter Eggs and I’m spotting so much more this time around! Up to the halfway point getting ready for acotar 6!

Also had my first book club book with “my husbands wife” and loved it! A group of local women here in the Hunter reading then waking together, let me know if you want to join OR would be keen to do so virtually if you aren’t local. by @pagesforpaces
