An ode to female rage, I guess? ❤️‍🔥

As someone who decided to be more intentional with the media I am consuming this year, I knew personal curriculums were something I wanted to test out.

However, instead of treating it like a one-time school work, I wanted to approach it like something worth returning to. Something I would do with no pressure, but with an idea to spark excitement and deep exploration.

So, enjoy my personal curriculum on female rage.

There is a genre, a perspective, a recommendation for everyone.

Let me know what you think, in case you check something out. 💌

Happy World Book Day 📖

I think all of us have read at least one book that changed our lives forever. Stories that are now a part of our hearts.

For me, those books were The Shadowhunter Chronicles 🖤

I picked them up when I was 15, and this was what they gave me:
⚔️ a world I could always return to
🖤 characters that feel real
🔥 love stories that hurt in the best way
✨ and a reminder that even broken people can be powerful
📖 a start of a beautiful way of living through books

World Book Day feels like a perfect moment to celebrate books that changed our lives and made us fall in love with reading.

📚 What book made you fall in love with reading?

(Save this as a reminder of your favorite world ✨)

Have you read The Jasad Heir? ✨️

If you haven't, consider this a sign.

As I am wrapping up its sequel, I can't help but wonder why I waited so long to pick this book up.

If you are looking for a fierce, totally badass main character, a lush worldbuilding and a man who WORSHIPS his woman (while also considering her an enemy), this is your book.

Enjoy a few quotes while I go and read the last pages of The Jasad Crown. 😭

A little recap of books I read in August 💐

For some reason, I really like this post. It is so simple, but these tiny stars make it so fun.

Take a seat, friend. It's confession time.

Here are five things I don't do as a bookstagram creator. Those might or might not make me suck at it, but we are being honest now.

I have recently read the widely-celebrated The Correspondent by Virginia Evans. 📖

I think I belong to the rare group of readers that simply found it mild. Underwhelming, if you will.

My expectations for this novel were high, and not just because of the current 4.4 ranking on Goodreads (based off of 811,120 ratings).

I fell in love with the premise, and I will be the first one to admit that I am a sucker for epistolary novels, but I struggled to get into and through it.

Nevertheless, The Correspondent made me pause and think—of Sybil Van Antwerp and her life, of the importance of accepting yourself and all the imperfections and mistakes you carry, and of letters we rarely write and send today.

I caved in and started Literature, Lived ☁️

A cozy corner of the internet dedicated to books and the pure joy of reading. It's where I want to share book reviews, reading notes, literary essays, and reflections on the books that changed my life in one way or another.

That being said, I believe reading is more than simply finishing your current read. It's approaching the written words with attention, asking thoughtful questions, and discovering new ways of seeing the world. Some books are there to make life more fun. Others are there to challenge us, offer us comfort, or quietly change the way we think. Those are the conversations I want to have here.

In the era of short-form content, I am offering:
💌 Thoughtful book reviews
🏛 Deep dives into literature and recurring themes
☁️ Reading notes and marginalia
✨️ Reflections on the reading life
🫂 Recommendations for books worth your time

Whether you are an avid reader or someone looking to read more intentionally, I hope this newsletter feels like a conversation with a book bestie you always wanted.

So grab a cup of your favorite beverage, find a comfortable chair, and stay awhile. There are always more pages to explore.

You can subscribe to Literature, Lived by checking the link in my bio. ❤️‍🔥
