HOSAB - 5/5 ending as most of you already know is 😱 but I shouldve done a HOEAB recap because I barely remembered anything from it

Divine Rival Duology - 3/5 I did really like these and I read them after finishing Throne of Glass so I feel like that altered my experience since nothing will top TOG

A Flicker in the Dark - 4/5 super quick read & definitely a page turned. I thought I had the whole plot figured out and was annoyed but then was quickly proven wrong lol

Anxiously waiting for House of Flame and Shadow to come out on the 30th but until then does anyone have any book recommendations?

Also let me know if you read any of these and what your thoughts were 🥰

Okay before I say this I want to say I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK.. however I personally felt it was way over hyped on booktok. I’m not sure if everyone else had made me set super high expectations for this but with that said I do think it was a veryyy good read just not my all time favorite fantasy!

Quick summary: Violet Sorrengail grew up being trained to join the scribe quadrant and has her life flipped upside down when her mother, and commanding general, forces her to attend Basgiath War College to compete to become a dragon rider like her mother, brother, and sister have before her. Being a lot smaller, less trained, and having fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter.

I’m super excited to get Iron Flame and read the second in the series since the cliff hanger did make my mouth drop and I am obviously in love with Xaden and obsessed with Violet’s character arch throughout this first book. Since there will be 4 more books in this series I don’t want to get to attached to any characters or their relationships stand right now but that most likely will be impossible

What were your thoughts for this read & have you already read Iron Flame??

Photodump of the series that took over my life & two other books I finished this summer. So if you like fantasy, historical fiction, or thriller here’s some recommendations!

Throne of Glass: 10000/10 if you have read ACOTAR and loved it you will absolutely love this series. I am so attached to these characters honestly more than I am about the ACOTAR characters which I didn’t think was possibe. Enjoy my Sarah J Maas shrine on my shelf & yes I have two of the old copies I’m going to get new ones so they all match. I could talk about this series I swear for the rest of my life.

The Nightingale: 10/10 This story broke my heart but was so amazing I see why so many people recommend it.

Pretty Girls: 9/10 this is probably one of my favorite Thrillers now! It definitely is a bit graphic but the entire time I was kept on my toes with this where a lot of thrillers I find pretty predictable.

Finally got around to reading this that my cousin @ansleysbooks recommended to me forever ago!

I’ve been on a mystery/thriller kick this summer & this one definitely was a good read. It has a dual plot line bouncing between current day from Carly’s perspective & 1982 from her aunt’s.

This is definitely a good spooky book to add to your TBR for October!

Have you read this book yet or have it on your TBR?

Finally read a book for the first time since February 2022 🥰 I’m not going to do a book review of this one since i’m pretty late hoping on the band wagon for this one but I absolutely loved it! I loved how it was written as an interview from all the bandmates perspectives and the plot twist at the end caught me by surprise!

Is anyone planning or already have watched the show for this ? I love love Sam Claflin and am so excited to see him as Billy.

💗 February Hopefuls 💗

Have been in a bit of a reading slump since January so i’m setting my goal for this month small. I’m probably the only one who has yet to read Where The Crawdads Sing & The Love Hypothesis since they were so big on booktok a bit ago!

QOTD: What books do you have planned for this month? 🥰 by @pageswith_peyton

Had to finish this one before House of Sky and Breath is released next month 🥰

I’m not gonna lie it is a climb to get started in this book. The character, world, and plot building takes about 150-200 pages but after that I couldn’t put it down. Itwas 100% worth it in the end! I have never cried at a scene in a book as hard as I did in this, it was UGLY.

I absolutely cannot wait for the second one to be released the way leave things open at the end has me super curious as to where it will pick up!

QOTD: What are your thoughts on this book? For my ACOTAR readers, did Hunt give you Cassian vibes too?

Here she is you guys … i’m still not okay. I sobbed like a baby from this book 😭 swipe for a synopsis 💗

We all know I love Colleen Hoover all her books are super quick reads for me and this one was the same - read in one sitting. I obviously get no sleep at night thanks to reading but it’s fine.

I couldn’t even imagine being in Kenna’s position, it truly is heartbreaking reading through what she is dealing with and the same for Ledger. I loved Ledger, he’s for sure up their with my favorite male leads out of the 8 (now 9) coho books I’ve read.

QOTD: What’s your favorite Colleen Hoover Book ?? Is this on your TBR?

~ Six of Crows / Crooked Kingdom~
Swipe for synopsis

I’ve seen soooo many mixed reviews about this series and I can definitely see a little bit why some people may not enjoy it since their is a complex plot and some dry characters but also am confused how it didn’t pull in a lot more people by the end of the first book!

There are some slow moments but I feel like with any fantasy book there is character and world building that has to take place in the beginning for you to understand everything happening.

I really enjoyed this series! I loved the slow burn/hidden interest between characters, the sarcasm between the Dregs, and CONSTANTLY not knowing if what happened was what Kaz was expecting or not. Not going to lie, I sobbed in the second one and did not see what happened coming at all but no spoilers 🤐

My rating: 8/10

QOTD: Who was your favorite member of the Dregs? Did you enjoy this series?

This was my second read of 2022 and it had me very emotional. One of my favorite things about Collen Hoover is how she writes about a lot of topics that are very serious and heavy and allows the characters to explain everything that is going through their minds and how they personally get through their traumas.

I loved this book, I loved Dean and Sky, I loved the ending. I thought I had figured out the plot twists and then had 3 others thrown at me out of nowhere. The one page I literally gasped.

Swipe for synopsis but i’ll say it again-TRIGGER WARNINGS: sexual assault, child abuse, suicide

My Rating: 8.5/10

QOTD: Have you read this book already? If so, have you also read Losing Hope?

Quote: No one is likeable from the inside out
~Swipe for synopsis ~

How I forgot to post the review about this book when I read it a few months ago, I have no idea. THIS BOOK IS INSANE, no other word to explain it.

There is some DARK and I mean extremely dark content in here where some pages are very difficult to read but it’s so addicting you cannot stop. I loved that our girl Colleen gave us a thriller and a damn good one at that. The ending too 🤌🏼 If you are in a reading slump or just looking for a quick read 100% give this book a chance!

My a rating: 9/10 💗

QOTD: Is this on your TBR list? If you have finished it already are you #teammanuscript or #teamletter?

I truly will never have a single negative thing to say about any Colleen Hoover book. This book is SO different compared to her other books. I was nervous, mad, sad, and happy throughout reading this so prepare for a rollercoaster when reading this one.

Leeds meets Layla while he is performing with his band at her sister’s wedding. The second they meet he doesn’t ever want to stop being around her and she feels completely the same. Shortly into their relationship Layla finds out the difficulties of dating a slightly known musician when the two of them are attacked by Leeds ex-girlfriend/ crazy ban fan Sable. In the following months Leeds & Layla are trying to recover when they take a trip to where they first met. Leeds is expecting this trip with bring them closer together and has no idea the secrets the place unveils to him 🤭

When I say I thought I was expecting what was going on and then was shocked at how wrong I was, I mean it. My jaw dropped a few different times and definitely got some Verity vibed throughout reading. This was finished in one sitting and kept be up till 2am but I do not regret it!
