An image is worth a 1,000 words..thank you @jdlstreetart for expressing what many of us feel.

I don’t feel so much like celebrating our independence today because I don’t feel like we’re independent any longer.

What’s happening in this country literally makes me sick to my stomach.

And the leadership of this country, many of whom claim to be Christian, actually prayed to pass a bill that reduces healthcare and food benefits to the most vulnerable of this country to make themselves and their wealthy patrons even richer. I have to ask them “what would Jesus say?”

Mothers and babies are dying in Africa and donated medicine is just sitting in warehouses, not distributed, because of the shuddering of USAID.

Hardworking, law abiding, tax paying immigrants who’ve been here for decade and are doing some of the hardest manual labor jobs no American born citizen could even do, are are being “hunted, captured and imprisoned” by as many as 6 ICE agents per capture (what does DOGE have to say about that inefficiency?!?.). BTW why the masks and full military combat gear for one unassuming human?!?!

Prices have gone up on everything, and a bill has been passed that will leave children, elders, and the working poor without a safety net.

And people who claim to be Christian support this madness?

Didn’t Jesus promote loving and caring for the most vulnerable and marginalized ?!?!? Wouldn’t supporting and lifting up the most vulnerable - lift us all up?!?!

I don’t subscribe to any kind of organized religion because of the mass hypocrisy. However, I am familiar with basic teachings of Jesus, which I believe are just and kind. if we all lived our lives with the same philosophy the world would be a better place.

Instead the most evil are being applauded for their racist, cruel, and uncaring actions. 💔

I’m honored to have my wall sculpture, Vestige II, in the Mercedes Matter award-winning exhibition opening at New York Studio School on Thursday, June 12. I’m proud to be part of such an amazing group of artists.

I’m excited to be at the opening event and hope to see you there! taken in New York Studio School by @paige_pedri
