Being diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer again yesterday, wasn’t exactly how I imagined ringing in my 42nd year. Feeling more driven than ever though, to share my journey and spread awareness 🩷

Skin Check Day!!

At the age of 28, I was diagnosed with stage 2 Melanoma Skin Cancer. At the age of 32 I was diagnosed again, in a different area.

This isn’t the cut it out and be gone, this is the live with the unknown. The hope it doesn’t spread to your brain, lungs or lymph nodes Cancer.

I do my part, staying away from refined sugars and being an avid ingredient label reader for what I put on and in my body.

You do your part, get your skin checked by an experienced dermatologist ❤️

Cheers to the men that support their women being strong, independent and in our case, the main income earner.

First day of Grade 11 📚

Every morning over summer, you would walk out of your room and look totally different. The last couple months you have added a couple inches and a couple shoe sizes 👟😳 Up over 30lbs from this time last year and big goals to keep gaining!

Dax, you amazed me last school year. Your effort, your ownership, and your ability to manage the schedule of an athlete while maintaining honours. Your self commitment to Bio 20 in summer school so that you can have a spare for last class this year to be on the field earlier. Kid, all I can say is leaps and bounds, keep rolling. This year is going to be even more transformational, I can just feel it 🫶🏼

Hands down, one of the hardest days of my life. Flying home, alone, and leaving him again.

I stood on the side of the road after he dropped me at the airport and bawled. I pretty much never stopped until I landed back on home soil.

Healthy birds leave the nest.

I just repeated it, reminded myself how much the laundry & cooking at home will lighten and started the countdown until we see him again at Christmas.

I watched you notice an older couple struggling to open the mall door last night and without hesitation, you ran over and surprised them by holding it open for them.

Us 🫶🏼

Austin and I leave on our trek back south to Arizona tomorrow, and I can’t help but sit and reflect on this past year.

There were tears, so much growth, opportunities and lots of FaceTimes. The biggest thing I take away from it is the vision of what any one of us are capable of when we set our mind to it. A memory popped up a couple weeks back from 2018, about Austin and I being out for a walk and talking scholarships (although we were speaking to hockey 😂) - I totally forgot we had that conversation. The seed was planted though and he never lost site of what was possible for him with hard work, consistency and a growth mindset.

And his brothers get a front row seat to it all. 🥹❤️

In this next year, WE are going to keep dreaming, keep grinding and keep building. So excited for it 🫶🏼

Going to jump on this trend. Likely in all areas of my life, but let’s start here:

I cannot tell you how many couples we see and hang around and you don’t know if they are best friends, room mates or divorced. I don’t always want to give a wink across the room or a 🍑 squeeze - but I do. It’s called staying alive 🕺

I deserve the best. The best marriage, the best husband, the best love & vice versa. Know it, want it, demand it, work towards it.

Some nights I just need to sleep peacefully. No snoring, no b88b grab, no 🍑 tap. Just me curled in fetal and unbothered. It’s not often, and usually he knows when to grab the spare bed - bless him.

You will never excel without difficult conversations. It’s not always easy to hear or say, and either way, it only promotes growth. Which is the unlimited goal.

Level up, for you. And for them.

In a house full, a calendar full and an inbox full - sometimes you just need to time block it.
