For me, one of the most interesting parts of painting a custom mural is not just the big reveal. It is the story behind it, the personal, meaningful details woven into the background. A mural should not just look pretty; it should tell you a story about the space it inhabits, its people and their ideas 🤍 ✨🎨

For this kid’s room, the wall is packed with personal meanings and hidden gems that remind the family of some great memories and represent some of their personal favourites.

🐿️ Tucked-away acorns to match the little treasures the boy loves to collect outside.🦉🐇 His favorite wildlife characters. 🐻🐺A subtle appearance by the dad’s favorite animal and watchful eye, and mom’s care and love. When you add these layers of hidden meaning, the art grows with the family. It transforms a bedroom from just a decorated space into an interactive treasure hunt they get to wake up to every single day.

Which hidden motif is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! 👇

A custom hand-painted mural can do so much more than decorate a wall, it can completely change how a room feels. ✨🌿
This woodland scene was designed specifically for this space and painted entirely by hand, turning one blank wall into a little world of its own.

What would you turn your blank wall into? 🎨

Murals are such a statement, the way they transform a space is amazing ✨ it is especially important in spaces where we spend a lot of time, subconsciously soaking their vibe, colours, beauty or the lack of it! In this case having a large scale mural opened up walls towards a magical woodland view. What a scene for a young child’s mind to interact with ✨ taken in Burlington, Ontario by @paintawaymurals

The woodland mural is officially done!! This was an epic piece that I put my heart and soul into. It came together beautifully, the details, the composition, the tones and gradients, it all created a magical scene that is already becoming a big part of great memories made here. There are lots of Easter eggs that I will reveal in upcoming posts, but for now: what do you think? 🪾🌲🌳😊

There once was a one car garage. And inside that garage was an empty wall. The wall was yellow, with many holes, kind of bland and kind of sad. It couldn’t carry shelves or many tools on it as other walls in the garage already did that and owners needed the space to park their car inside during harsh winters. So this little wall stayed empty and boring. After all, it was just a wall in a garage so not much else it could be, right? Wrong!
Luckily for this wall @paintawaymurals moved in. And then came a design vision, sketches, variations, and finally carefully chosen paint palette and few days of work and voila!

This is now the view that greats me and my family every time we walk out of our house into the garage. Be it for a walk with our kid, or for an errand or a chore, seeing this as we open the door puts a smile on our faces without an exception. What once was a yellowish empty wall is now a portal to a warm landscape that incorporates our love for the ocean, nature, beaches and sailing. It is enjoyed by my family, my cat and every neighbour that stops by to say hi ☺️ (swipe to see my kid’s reaction when we go in the garage and my cat who thinks he discovered a beautiful new outside view)

I firmly believe we need more colours in our lives, more art, more nature. It inspires, it warms up our souls, sparks creativity, lifts the spirit and stirs the emotions.
And murals do it on a big scale by transforming not just walls, but the space itself! Just ask this little wall, once unremarkable and forgettable and now a smile
instigator and a star of our little street ☺️

This was super fun!
@paintawaymurals is officially on the walls! ✨🖌️

So excited to see one of my designs come to life at full scale and turn this plane garage wall into a forever lush jungle view. 😊🌴🌊☀️ It will especially be appreciated during Canadian winters 😄

Already working on the next one! Different theme, but very special mural. 🩵
Stay tuned and check this one out in the meantime! 😊

I have been working on translating my art into murals and testing how it sits in real interiors through visual mockups.

Becoming a mum and spending more time at home made me think a lot more about the spaces we live in, how they feel, and how they shape our everyday.
I find myself drawn to something softer, calmer, more connected to the space itself, not just artwork on a wall, but something that becomes part of the room.

As an architect, this feels like a natural extension of how I think about design.

Excited to start bringing this onto actual walls next 🤍

I made this one for a baby boy’s nursery. Something full of life, colour, and wonder to put a smile on his face and spark his adventure spirit. It also creates an opportunity for him to learn: about our world, about animals, about their habitats, about colours, shapes and elements. A jungle-meets-ocean world to inspire a little one’s imagination and love for nature.

“Deep Blue” 🩵💙🌊🐳

Majestic, free, and deeply connected to the ocean. 🐋💙 This piece was inspired by the elegance and greatness of the whales, and their beautiful home: the deep blue ocean. The intricate patterns within the whale reflect the motion of the waves and the energy of underwater currents, and symbolically depict the connection to something greater than one’s individual existence. 🌊✨ stardust, skies, ocean, high above & deep below, it all comes together in nature.
