Happy new year everyone!

What a wonderful year 2025 was - I sincerely hope that this next year is even better for you all!

This is my art vs artist for the year. I have seen substantial improvement in my abilities this year, and I finally felt like I was able to smash through that invisible wall that was standing between me and creating something truly remarkable.

Painting is a journey, and every step should be filled with reflection, contemplation and enjoyment. I shall aim to take that forward over 2026.

This year I aim to increase the calibre of painting competition I enter - Monte San Savino is planned for November, and id love to go to Golden Demon too. I am hoping to enter a Sir Coates @duncan_rhodes_painting_academy competition and I would love to make it to @fenmodelshow.ely - let’s see what 2026 holds. 🤞

I realise I never took a “glamour shot” of what I won my Golden Demon Finalist Pin for. Well. Here she is. “Sam Ascends”

Hey look! Something I’m actually mad proud of!

I took one day to just go crazy on this busy and the result actually made me really, really proud.

Massive thanks to @beardy_cat_games for printing, and @alexpaintstinythings and @gerbilpapa for guidance with the NMM

Anything you want it to be.

Be bold. Create new things. Be artistic.

Painting minis is the cure for sadness, especially when it's done with friends.

So yesterday, we went out to @eck_paints painting shed to paint a bust from start to finish. The model? Conan The Barbarian himself. With eight hours on the clock and starting from only a black base coat, could we do it? I guess you’ll have to be the judge…

It’s the simplest things that feel the hardest to accurately capture. And so begins this study of fire
