What started as an idea between an artist and a designer, @by_alicegrace, slowly found its way into this wonderful space - and seeing it sit so naturally here feels very special.

Between us, we couldn’t love it more 🤍

I’ve always loved the idea of dog cards that feel a little more special… something you’d want to prop on a shelf, pin to a noticeboard or keep long after the moment has passed.

So I started designing my own ✂️

A growing little collection of paper pups for people who treat their dogs like family and their cards like keepsakes.

Which breed needs to join next? 🐾

This is pretty much what my days look like at the moment….

Lots of drawing and painting (and a bucket load of trial and error!) all in preparation for an exciting print launch very soon for @ag.andco__ 🤍

A little world of curious characters, fancy ladies, very important dogs and whatever else pops up! I do love making it all up as I go along ✨🎨

For art pals - I use acrylic paints and oil pastels on canvases and acrylic ink filled in with my Japanese gouache pan set for paper illustrations! My favourite combos x by @painted_by_alexa

A peek into how my illustrations come together 🌙✨

I’ve been dreaming up these Greek-inspired ladies this week, borrowing colours from my living room shelves, adding in a horse (couldn’t resist) and experimenting with turning my drawings into a ceramic tile.

It’s funny where colour inspiration can come from. Sometimes the loveliest palettes are right under our noses 🎨

A little world of my own, where the girls are fabulous and everyone has a whippet 🐾

Had so much fun dreaming up these little characters this week!

For my art pals, I outlined in black acrylic ink first, then used a watered down gouache from my Japanese pan set - quick & easy every single time!

These girls have places to be 💁🏼‍♀️✨

From my sketch book, to a life of their own!

A little witchy business ✨

Had far too much fun drawing these gals this month… October really is the best excuse to get a little carried away with all things Halloween 🌙🪄

It’s quite the mix and a little chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the not too distant future, I’ll have a bigger studio, but for now, this little corner is doing a rather lovely job. ❤️

Horses, colourful characters, fancy ladies, painted lampshades and everything in between. A little bit of this, a little bit of that!

Welcome to my illustrated world! 🎨

Here come the cowgirls ✨

I’ve loved bringing these girls to life. They’re a little wild, and full of the strength and spirit that’s inside us all!

I’ve squeezed a few tiny details into this piece, so a carousel with a closer look is coming next… 🐎

Art pals - this is using Daler Rowney FW acrylic ink and my favourite Japanese watercolour pan set Gansai on a big sheet of lining paper x

Making a world, one drawing at a time ✏️

Telephones, horses, mermaids and the occasional musically gifted dog. It all makes perfect sense to me.

Although I have been wondering what might happen if a few more of these drawings made their way off the paper… 👀💡

Art friends - mediums used are Daler Rowney FW acrylic ink, Faber Castell pastel pencils and a very glamorous roll of lining paper.
