Jeremy Clarkson’s passion for cars dates back to his childhood. He famously jokes that his first spoken word was “Maserati” rather than “Mummy.” At 17, he got behind the wheel of his first car, a Ford Cortina, sparking what would become a lifelong obsession with cars. In 1987, he met Jon Bentley, a researcher for the BBC’s original Top Gear, who was looking for someone who could make cars entertaining on television. Impressed by Clarkson, he invited him to do a screen test. In 1988, Jeremy Clarkson officially joined Top Gear as one of its presenters, and the rest is history. by @paintedheartss
The three GTA V actors first met during the audition process around 2010, initially without even knowing they were auditioning for a new Grand Theft Auto game. Ned Luke (Michael) and Steven Ogg (Trevor) were paired together for an audition scene and immediately clicked, even improvising parts of the scene. Shawn Fonteno (Franklin) joined the cast later and eventually bonded with them. They spent roughly three years performing together using motion-capture technology, acting out scenes much like they would on a real movie set. Years later, the three have remained good friends, with Fonteno revealing that he could call either Ned or Steven and they would pick up. They still reunite at gaming conventions, Comic-Cons and other events. by @paintedheartss
As a kid, Tobey Maguire wanted to become a chef and dreamed of taking cooking classes at school. His mother, however, offered him $100 to take a drama class instead. He accepted, and ended up loving it. The class sparked his interest in acting, and he eventually started auditioning for commercials and television roles. Years later, he became internationally famous for playing Peter Parker in the Spider-Man trilogy. by @paintedheartss
We Bare Bears started when Daniel Chong was sitting in a library with his girlfriend’s niece. He drew three bears stacked on top of each other, simply trying to make her laugh. The little girl loved the drawing, inspiring Chong to develop the idea further. He eventually turned it into a webcomic called The Three Bare Bears, featuring the same three characters. Chong eventually pitched it to Cartoon Network, which liked the idea and asked him to develop it further. The series premiered on July 27, 2015, becoming one of Cartoon Network’s most recognisable shows. by @paintedheartss
The Truman Show delusion, also known as Truman Show syndrome, is a rare psychological phenomenon in which a person believes that their entire life is being filmed and broadcast to an audience, just like in the 1998 movie The Truman Show. The term was introduced by psychiatrists Joel and Ian Gold, who began documenting patients with similar experiences in the early 2000s. In 2008, Joel Gold reported encountering several patients who believed they were the stars of a reality TV show. It’s often linked to paranoia and believing that everyday events have a hidden meaning. It can also involve depersonalization and derealization, making someone feel disconnected from themselves or like the world isn’t real. by @paintedheartss
For years, fans have been speculating about the origins of the iconic artwork on the cover of Dean Blunt’s album ZUSHI. One popular theory is that the symbol is actually based on the logo of 1990s R&B group Dru Hill, whose original logo features a very similar dragon design. Rush Hour 2 has also been mentioned as a possible inspiration, with fans referring to an alleged story about Dean Blunt seeing the symbol tattooed on a Russian character while watching the movie. by @paintedheartss
In The Office, Jim and Pam start out as regular coworkers but slowly become best friends. They spend their days joking around, sharing lunch breaks, and getting closer without even realizing it. Jim eventually falls in love with Pam, who’s already engaged to Roy. After keeping his feelings to himself for a long time, he finally tells her how he feels, but she turns him down, even though there’s clearly something between them. They both try to move on, but their feelings never really go away. During the season 3 finale, Jim finally asks Pam out, and she says yes. They get married in season 6 and eventually start a family together, with two children, Cece and Phillip. Things aren’t always easy, and they go through a rough patch with arguments and misunderstandings, but they work things out and eventually decide to move to Texas and start a new chapter together. by @paintedheartss
Every year, about 600,000 men die by suicide. That’s around 50,000 every month and 1,800 every day. Men often don’t talk about their problems. They think they have to handle everything by themselves, hoping things will eventually turn out okay. Many don’t want to seem ‘weak’ by crying or asking for help. They worry that friends, family or partners will see them differently if they open up. With the start of November, we’re also entering Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. As you may have noticed, I’ve been posting quite often about mental health lately. It’s something I truly care about, and I want, even in my own small way, to encourage people to talk and express their feelings. If you’re feeling like the world is getting heavier and your thoughts are becoming harder to deal with, remember that you’re special and loved. There are people who love you and genuinely care about you. Ask for help, speak up and never feel embarrassed about it. Your life matters, and you matter more than you can imagine. The creator of Scream (1996), Kevin Williamson, was inspired to write the story by a real-life experience. He began writing the screenplay after watching a documentary about serial killer Danny Rolling, known as the “Gainesville Ripper.” Later, he noticed an open window he didn’t remember leaving open, became frightened, and called a friend while checking the house. In an interview years later, he said: “I was house-sitting for a friend and I was watching a special on the Gainesville Ripper and it creeped me out so much. I basically walked around the house with a knife, checking under the bed and in the shower just to make sure no one was there.” by @paintedheartss
During her time with Crystal Castles, Alice Glass became known for her intense and physically demanding performances, which left her with several injuries, including multiple concussions. In 2011, she even performed parts of an international tour with a severely broken ankle. Years later, she revealed that she had allegedly been pressured by her bandmate Ethan Kath to continue performing despite her injuries, something she spoke about when publicly accusing him of abuse. by @paintedheartss
Cats can basically sit in whatever position they want, wherever they want. They have incredibly flexible spines and joints, allowing them to get into positions that would be uncomfortable for humans. Their bodies are naturally adapted to twisting, stretching and bending in unusual ways, which is why you’ll often find them sitting in the funniest positions. They’re also known for choosing the weirdest places to sit, often because they’re looking for warmth, comfort or simply somewhere they feel safe. by @paintedheartss
Gucci Mane has always been known for having some of the most bizarre and exaggerated cover artworks in hip-hop. During the late 2000s and early 2010s, Gucci was releasing music at an incredible pace, and every project he dropped came with a cover that looked like an experiment. At the time, Gucci Mane worked with independent graphic designers and wasn’t afraid to experiment with his covers. Many of those artworks took inspiration from pop culture: Toy Story, Mario, the NFL, and even Burger King. Years later, Gucci Mane’s album covers still remain iconic for their bizarre concepts and out-of-pocket designs. by @paintedheartss
