Song 3/10. “Ancora Imparo” is out now on all streaming platforms!
I wrote this song 9 years ago during my freshman year of undergrad. I was impatient, frustrated, overwhelmed, and trying to figure out who I was and what the hell I was doing. Writing songs became a way for me to work through the things I didn’t really know how to say out loud.
Ancora Imparo means “I am still learning.” It’s a quote famously attributed to Michelangelo late in his life, and it’s stuck with me ever since I first heard it.
We are always students. Always messing up, figuring it out, changing our minds, trying again, learning how to give ourselves (and each other) a little more grace.

Now, 9 years later, I’m back in school again. This time studying to become a Physician Assistant. I’m learning an almost comical amount of information every day, and yet sometimes the biggest lessons aren’t the ones from the PowerPoints. There’s A LOT I don’t know. There will always be a lot I don’t know. And I’ve come to fully acknowledge and appreciate that.
I’ll keep trying, messing up, figuring things out, and turning all of it into something I can learn (and grow) from.
And probably into songs too.

Stay curious. Stay playful. Try things you might suck at. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Forgive yourself. Keep going.
