The Virtual Auction is now live, have a browse at affordable works from the exhibition and some auction exclusives, link in the bio. What does music look like? Yesterday we hosted our workshop, ‘Art to the Beat’, at the @cottontreetrust. Inspired by artists such as Kandinsky, we explored how sound can become colour, shape and movement on paper. This led to conversations around the power of music in remembering hidden memories. Huge thank you to @elspethkwriting for designing this workshop! Profits from our upcoming exhibition will go towards helping The Cotton Tree Trust fulfil their mission and it will also allow us to continue offering workshops like this within the community. #artforsocialimpact #artandmusic by @paintingprogress_
Throw back to Friday - our Spoken Word in a Gallery. The night was filled with such soulful pieces of writing, which went hand in hand with the surrounding Small Blue Dot exhibition at @espaciogallery. Thank you @aaliyahidk for hosting the evening and for creating a welcoming space. Tomorrow is our last full day of opening! The virtual auction will also be drawing to a close tomorrow at 7pm - don’t miss your chance at grabbing art at reduced prices! Link in bio for the auction. by @paintingprogress_
Small Blue Dot @espaciogallery , in partnership with @paintingprogress_ A huge thanks to the audiences and all of the creatives who were a part of this exhibition and auction supporting the work of Painting Progress - an #artschool for social impact - and of our own mission to nurture learning and growth through creation. 'Small Blue Dot' - exhibition exploring climate change, life (eco)systems and social injustice. We're also deeply grateful to both of our partners for their vision and commitment to platforming #emergingvoices . We were fortunate to profile three brilliant artist-filmmakers whose work sparked powerful, resonant conversations: Mengya Li's 'The Growth' – stop-motion exploring how food carries culture and creates connections across different backgrounds. Michael Williamson's 'Reuse, Repeat' – a journey from urban anxiety to nature, asking: are we doing enough to support the systems that sustain us? Leo Crane's 'The Foundling' – where music and imagination become escape, and wild birds become family. (Produced by @animateprojectsuk and @figurationco ) Thank you to @mon_for_moon, @quirkygentlethem , and @leocrane77 for trusting us with your work. This is what we do at Packed Lunch: create platforms for emerging voices to be heard on issues that matter. Follow these artists. Their work is essential. And as ever, we could use your support in developing more voices in the visual arts and expanding our community programmes. Get in touch anytime for partnership enquiries or support our work through donating @justgiving #linkinbio #VisualStorytelling #EmergingArtists #ClimateAction #SocialJustice #AnimationFilm #ArtsCharity #CreativeCommunication #NonProfit #SmallBlueDot by @paintingprogress_
Thank you to everyone who came along to Small Blue Dot @espaciogallery. The exhibition explored themes surrounding climate change, life systems, interaction between humans and nature as well as social injustices within our Small Blue Dot. The exhibition was put on to encourage conversation surrounding these topical subjects, as well as to platform emerging artists. We hope the works in the show have given you good for thought. We also had the honour of partnering with @pckdlnch who brought the much commented upon film & moving image pieces. Aside from the above, we also use the exhibition as a way to help us continue delivering our arts programmes for vulnerable groups - thank you to everyone who donated/bought a print/work. For the rest of this year we are going to focus on our new community partners in delivering workshops to aid mental wellbeing. However, keep your eyes peeled for our next exhibition and to check in our progress & to find out in real time how the profits are being used! Thank you again, hope to see you all at the next one! by @paintingprogress_

'Reuse, Repeat' by Michael Williamson "Reuse, Repeat traces a journey from city‑bound anxiety to the grounding pull of the sea. Beginning with childhood memories of cement, harsh greys and imagined glamour, the film moves through the moment of feeling overwhelmed, saying 'somebody please save me,' and then into the clarity found in nature. The moon, once the artist’s only reliable source of beauty, becomes a guide to the tides, the body, and the rhythms that shape us. As the film shifts to scenes of painting, shoreline walking, litter picking, and encounters with injured wildlife, it reflects on how deeply nature supports us physically, mentally and spiritually; it asks whether we are doing enough to support it in return. Repetition becomes both a warning and a call to care: reuse, repeat." @quirkygentleman In Michael, we welcome a new creative voice in the artists' films arena, and with an inventive work that explores natural and human habitats and how the difference between these impact the artist and reflect the societies in which they live on this #SmallBlueDot of ours. The Small Blue Dot exhibition runs from 20–25 Aug at Espacio Gallery, London. The finalist films will be in exhibition throughout. (And we look forward to celebrating these and the runners up post exhibition.) Private View: 20 Aug, 6:30 - 9:30 pm (link in bio to RSVP). Open daily: 10:30 am–6:30 pm.
