Berbagi ruang dengan para maestro tari dan seniman hebat menjadi pengingat bahwa seni tumbuh dari perjumpaan, percakapan, dan kebersamaan. One of the greatest gifts my dad gives us is the meaning of rasa. Through the sound of gamelan, he teaches us that rasa is more than feeling. It is empathy, humility, compassion, and the ability to understand what words alone cannot.Everyone calls him Pak Djoko. In Javanese, Pak means father. He doesn’t just carry the title. He lives it. He is a father to everyone who has the privilege of knowing him.He always reminds us, “Aja dumeh.” Never let pride, power, or status define who you are. He teaches us tepa slira, to put ourselves in another person’s shoes, to love people even when they hurt us, and to always keep our ego in check.Your strength and sacrifices give us a better life. But your greatest gift is your values.“Urip iku urup.” Life is about being a light for others. You continue to live those words every single day through all of us.Matur nuwun sanget, Pak.
