If you’re an intellectual, a nerd, or simply love learning, put this on your D.C. list. The D.C. Society of Elevated Voices brings thought-provoking lectures to beautiful spaces around the city. At Shanklin Hall in Adams Morgan, Dr. Natalie Hopkinson explored Go-Go’s journey from being criminalized to being celebrated as part of D.C.’s cultural legacy.

The food was delicious, the ambiance was amazing, and the company was superb. Follow the D.C. Society of Elevated Voices to catch an upcoming lecture—and come ready to learn.

💛💙

The village showed up, and I am beyond grateful.

In a time when the world can feel so heavy and uncertain, having people who will step in, show up, celebrate, and pour love into your child is both essential and deeply meaningful.

Dori is off to Hofstra University to pursue her graduate degree, and I am so thankful she will begin this next chapter surrounded by a village that believes in her and loves her.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped make this send-off so special, it means more to me than words can say. Dori Takes New York! 🗽✨ by @palatial_posh

Dear 51,

I’ve been expecting you.

Let’s make this a year of bold decisions, disciplined execution, and unwavering faith. A year where I stop waiting for permission, bet on myself with greater conviction, and pursue every opportunity with purpose.

I’ll bring the courage. You bring the lessons.

Here’s to crushing goals, embracing new horizons, protecting my peace, and becoming the woman I’ve been preparing to be all along.

The best investment I’ll ever make is in the life God has called me to live.

Welcome, 51. Let’s get to work.
