Still can't believe its been 9 years ago today that I broke my back. 3 burst vertebrae causing catastrophic stress on my spinal cord.. putting me in a wheelchair for the past 9 years.

I still love my life and wouldn't change a thing. I sure as hell miss racing Moto, playing hockey or even just ice skating at public skates with family. But life has its sacrifices that mesh with life's blessings.

I still haven't given up and I will never give up. I just take 1 day at a time now and am open to greatness. I know life has its course and I am truly grateful for each day I wake up to see what a fresh day brings.

Always keep pushing forward and Always follow your heart! Surround yourself with people that bring you peace. Life is too short as it is to waste time on things and those that don't bring peace and joy to your soul. You never know what tomorrow may bring. Keep kicking Ass.

In 2015 I broke my neck and almost died while BMXing and drinking..I missed 4 months of work and went on hiatus with @vivideyeband .. I wanted to turn my life around and music was all I had to turn to. I played solo gigs at local Hamilton bars to prove to myself I am a front man. I am a @jerrycantrell , @chriscornellofficial , @kurtcobain @zakkwyldebls @alexilaiho.official .. so I formed "ALiCE IN CHANGE" . It was time. I had my own band. I played by myself and played all my favorite songs. I called it the "Seattle Sit Down" where I played them all acoustically and intimately. Randy the owner of the Beaver and Bulldog Hamilton let me play Thursday nights for as long as I wanted. Every week I added 2 more songs.

I would work at @mohawkford until 5pm and be at the Beaver for 8pm to play til close. It was slow. Not too many walk ins.. mostly regulars. It was a comfortable and chill night hanging out with the servers and bartenders that I got to know well.

One day I come in to play my little sets and the place was packed. I looked at @captainmcginn and said.. "why is it so packed!" 🤯😳 she says "its March break Mikey!" .. my heart sank and I realized that this was it. Am I a Rockstar or am I just a wanna be.. my heart was pounding and I realized I had to entertain all of these people. I took my gear to the stage and just pretended it was my regular small local crowd.. long story short.. I survived and played all my favorite tunes in a comfortable order . After a few songs I got more claps and the pressure began to fade. I would make small witty jokes about me messing up and I would get a few laughs. At the end of my 2nd set the Drop D set I nailed "Fell on Black Days" by @soundgarden and it felt good.

As the weeks went on my buddy Ashton joined me. He played the riffs while I added solos.. we were a great duo. We were a 2 piece getting better and better. We practiced 2 days a week Monday and Wednesdays and then the gig on Thursday. We were getting tighter and tighter. Then Mitch wanted to jam! He hung out with his bass player cousin often and we jammed as a 4 piece a handful of times. It was too good to be true as Joel moved away for school and Mitch just by @palemoonwarrior
