“La Mente del Jinete” Acrílico sobre tela.

Obra de la cual se desprende el nombre de mi exhibición La mente del jinete, actualmente en Galería Pali, Ciudad de México.

Esta pintura nace al pensar el arte como una bestia: un caballo sin montura al que decido subirme sin demasiada protección. Un lugar donde conviven el vértigo, la vulnerabilidad y también la confianza. A veces no sé muy bien hacia dónde me lleva, pero he aprendido a dejarme llevar.

El arte ha sido para mí una forma de transporte. Una manera de volver al pasado, al campo, a los viajes y a ciertos recuerdos, pero también de llegar a lugares que todavía no conozco. Quizás la mente del jinete sea justamente eso: aprender a avanzar sin decidir, aceptando el presente y sus consecuencias.

Camilo Huinca presents "La mente del jinete" (The Rider's Mind) at PALI Galería. The Chilean artist has launched his first solo exhibition in Mexico City, exploring the relationship between art, design, and emotion through painting and sculptural furniture.

The artist and designer—internationally known as ONLYJOKE—has spent over a decade developing one of the most recognizable visual languages in contemporary illustration and design. His stylized figures, flat colors, and compositions imbued with humanity have appeared in editorial work, global campaigns, public art installations, and collaborations with brands such as Nike, Apple, Netflix, and Warby Parker, cementing a practice that moves seamlessly between art and design.

Now, Huinca presents an exhibition in which his visual universe partially steps out of the two-dimensional realm, transforming into sculptural furniture, paintings, and objects with a commanding physical presence.

Camilo Huinca presenta "La mente del jinete" en PALI Galería. El artista chileno inauguró su primera exposición individual en Ciudad de México, donde explora la relación entre arte, diseño y emoción a través de pintura y mobiliario escultórico.

El artista y diseñador conocido internacionalmente bajo el nombre de ONLYJOKE, ha construido durante más de una década uno de los lenguajes visuales más reconocibles dentro de la ilustración y el diseño contemporáneo. Sus figuras sintéticas, colores planos y composiciones cargadas de humanidad han transitado entre editoriales, campañas globales, intervenciones públicas y colaboraciones con marcas como Nike, Apple, Netflix o Warby Parker, consolidando una práctica que se mueve con naturalidad entre arte y diseño.

Ahora, Huinca presenta una muestra donde su universo visual abandona parcialmente el plano bidimensional para convertirse en mobiliario escultórico, pintura y objetos cargados de presencia física.

On April 30th, Pali Galería (@pali.galeria) inaugurated SUSPENDED MOMENTS, an exhibition presented as an ecosystem of intersecting visions where identity, body, and territory converge in a profound chromatic dialogue. Located in the heart of the Roma neighborhood, the exhibition unfolds a curatorial approach that moves from the material to the dreamlike, uniting the trajectories of eight artists who are redefining contemporary art.

The narrative travels through the solidity of Georgina Quintana (@georgina.quintana.52), whose work hybridizes science and nature under a golden luminosity that seems to order chaos, establishing a generational bridge with the poetic introspection of Paloma Ulacia (@palomaulacia), who populates her universe with meditative figures and solitary worldviews. This calm is broken by the energy of Margarita Morales (@margaritamorales.art), whose color cartographies translate the vitality of the Mexican landscape from her own perspective, engaging in dialogue with the emotional abstraction of Nuria Oliva (@nuria__oliva), who uses instinctive chromatic layers to construct an architecture of pure sensitivity.

The exhibition delves into the narrative figuration of Lanise Howard (@lanise_howard_studio), whose Afrofuturist scenes propose alternate worlds of abundance, contrasting with the nostalgia of Tori Pounds (@toripounds_), who transforms everyday objects into emotional symbols through an oil painting technique weakened by time. For her part, Alexandra Connolly (@alexandra.connolly) brings a vibrant and contemporary aesthetic that explores female identity from the perspective of an American migrant who has rediscovered herself in Mexico City, while Alina Kurokhtina (@ali.krht) completes the circle with her atmospheric visualizations that capture moments suspended between naturalistic illustration and pure romanticism.

Taken together, the exhibition not only celebrates technical diversity but also solidifies Pali as a space of aesthetic resistance where fragmented memory is reconstructed through the brush, inviting the viewer to inhabit the inner landscapes of these eight essential voices. by @pali.galeria
