This post is for every person who sent back an empty candle jar to refill and reuse, ordered a votive refill, or restocked their tealight wax refills instead of buying new tealights. ♻️

Thirteen years ago, refilling candle jars wasn't really a "thing" people asked for. We did it anyway.

Seven years ago, switching to plastic-free packaging wasn't mandatory. We did it anyway.

Sourcing RSPO-certified palm wax, and building a tealight refill system that's now sold over 2000+ units - It was a long road with not much applause.

But this year is different. Palm Lights has been shortlisted for @uaemajra Sustainable Impact Challenge 2026, and we need votes to make the top 20.

I was on phone with my friend @pratikaufman when she stopped me mid-conversation, and asked me why I never talked about the impact my business has on the environment, "You've been doing this sustainability thing BEFORE it started trending!"

So I decided to actually look at the numbers. Properly. With data.

What I found even surprised me. 🌿

Since 2019, the year we launched our website, we have diverted 2,092 candles from landfill through our refill programme alone.
That's not counting the plastic we eliminated from every single order, the seed paper packaging, or the RSPO-certified wax we've sourced from day one.

I finally put it all in one place. Our very first sustainability report is now live on the website.
