‘I’m Back’ (2023)
marker in sketchbook

My first sketch of the year.

The foal’s head isn’t anatomically correct as the eyes should be further down. Lots of other issues, but I’m just pleased to be back on the page again.

‘Dexter’ (2022)
cheap acrylic in sketchbook

Another prep painting…think I’ve cracked the composition. Next move will be the final work in gouache and ink on canvas.

‘Dexter’ (2022)
cheap acrylic in sketchbook

Another prep sketch for painting…clearly, in no rush. Did this fairly quickly as the paper is thin and I didn’t want to over work it. Still thinking of doing it in block colour. Maybe the final work on a round canvas?

My first sketch in over two months. Suffice to say, it was quick and a reflection of how I’m feeling.
