PADDINGTON TERRACE Our renovated Paddington terrace merges traditional charm with contemporary sophistication, thanks to the GOAT’s at Porebski Architects. Their intent was to respect the home’s classic façade and internal volumes while introducing bespoke joinery, a statement fireplace, and an amphitheatre-style staircase that leads to a double-height kitchen and dining area, which seamlessly connects to the courtyard and gardens. Another Pamment project we are proud to be part of. PADDINGTON TERRACE A testament to when you “start with the art”. This entry nook is one of those spaces that really comes together on the day of soft furnishings, art, and decorative lighting installs. But, course the real hero here is the framed canvas titled “Tree Bark (Spotted Gum)” by Melissa Boughey, purchased through Curatorial & Co. PADDINGTON TERRACE There is something satisfying about providing subtle but thoughtful upgrades to a timeless façade, to let the original and some new detailing, materials, and fixtures last another century. A sophisticated “welcome home, come inside” at our Paddington terrace project. PADDINGTON TERRACE Combining TV units and fireplaces is commonplace nowadays, but we reckon the way that Porebski Architects stack these features always amazes us at how sleek their 2-in-1 unit concept comes together. The solid Blue Tama marble plinth hugs the fireplace while the TV lives behind veneered pocket doors, helping the sitting room feel more formal when closed away. We even managed to squeeze in a VRV aircon unit on top, concealed behind oak battens. PADDINGTON TERRACE The original sash windows and front door is mostly the only decorative proof that the sitting room in our Paddington renovation belongs to a Victorian terrace. The two front rooms were opened up, with structures concealed, and surfaces redone with contemporary joinery and stonework additions. We love bringing to life a full renovation, which fits as seamlessly within original bricks and mortar as this one. PADDINGTON TERRACE As far as terrace’s go, the entry is often the beginning of a characterless narrow hallway, so we thought this reconfiguration was particularly well considered. When space is limited, something as compact as this stone shelf and wall light mounted to the end face of under-stair joinery acts as a moment to pause before entering the house. In the reflection of the wall mirror (another sneaky and seductive touch point of this entry) is the corner of a custom room-dividing console with storage. This enhances the experience of meandering into the guts of the house one focal point at a time. PADDINGTON TERRACE One of the great things about this site is its elevation above Trumper Park and rear unobstructed aspect, as well as the neighbour’s gumtree — thanks neighbour. Due to its slope, once you past the street-level front two rooms, the whole back end of the property feels vast, green, light and very un-terrace like. We loved renovating this Paddington gem and collaborating closely with the architect to achieve a top performing and high quality build — a Finalist in the Master Builders Awards last year.
