I read this beautiful quote and tell me why this absolutely wrecked me.

This weekend would have been our 12th anniversary. I just feel so blessed that I got to experience such a great love and have the most loving and devoted husband. I’ll carry that love with me always.

Two years today.

Why does it feel like no time has passed, yet it also feels like a lifetime ago? Time moves differently now without Jake. I can’t even define it if I tried.

Missing him more quietly, but more fiercely.

Loving him more loudly, the way he loved life and people.

I still see him in every little thing, in the love he left behind, and in the beautiful memories that keep flooding back when I least expect them.

It always makes me smile when people reach out to share stories about Jake and what he meant to them.Those feel like a nice, warm hug from someone who misses him too. He is so universally loved!

Thanks for reminding me how deeply he touched people’s lives, and for letting me continue to love him out loud completely unapologetically.

Hey, it was different when you were around.

Life had that certain energy and pulse that only you could bring.

We lost you, and somehow it felt like the music stopped, and the silence became deafening.

I miss the familiar sound of your voice- the cadence of your lively chatting, laughing, sometimes rambling, but mostly caring for people out loud.

You had a habit of picking up the phone to check in on someone and driving hours just to be present for them.

Your phone and headphone battery were always depleted, your gas tank always running low, but somehow your cup never ran out.

It amazes me that, despite the limited time we had each day, you managed to stretch it and share it with so many. Your love spoke volumes.

You were the most generous and beautiful soul. The kind of person whose presence was noticed and whose absence is deeply felt.

Life feels different now—eerily silent, but all the love you gave continues to resonate.

What I’d give to see you, hold you and hear your voice again as I celebrate you.

Happy Birthday, Jake. Love you always ❤️
