When my client asked for a Baby Moana set up, I wanted to create something that felt elevated, elegant and unforgettable, while still capturing the wonder of childhood

It all started with a mood board inspired by the shoreline…

🩵Soft aqua balloons became the gentle ocean waves

🥂 Champagne draping represented the warm golden sand kissed by the sun

🌴 Tropical details, shells, coconuts and delicate florals brought the island to life

The challenge wasn’t just creating a children’s party, it was transforming a playful theme into something that felt luxurious

Every colour was carefully chosen. Every texture had a purpose. Every detail was designed to create a celebration that felt timeless rather than typical

Forty & Fabulous 🥂🍾

Now I know this returning client very well. So I knew exactly what I was going to do when her friends reached out to me to help organise this surprise birthday set up for her

The only specifications were the colours. They wanted nudes and gold. Of course we done it the Panache way and used custom colour nudes and a subtle gold. This birthday girl doesn’t like anything over the top so I braved it by adding the embellishments but decided bows on the champagne glasses would be pushing it lol

Personally I love the current bow trend. They’re super feminine and nostalgic. I remember wearing bows in my hair as a child and the cute little bows on my ballet pumps. Fond memories that have been reignited by the prominence of bows in fashion, interior design and decor

This colourful setup was created during one of London’s hottest days, and while the sunshine looks beautiful in photos, it definitely brings its own challenges when working with balloons

A little insider knowledge… if you’re planning an outdoor celebration this summer here are my top tips:

☀️ Choose a shaded area where possible

🎈 Avoid dark balloon colours if your setup will be in direct sun for long periods

💨 Consider the wind as well as the heat when choosing your backdrop location

⏱️Give your stylist enough set up time so everything can be installed safely and carefully

✨ Most importantly… book an experienced balloon stylist who knows how to plan for the weather before the day even begins
